Language Lizard ships direct to Canada.
Most orders are sent via UPS so that orders can be tracked and arrive in a timely manner. Smaller orders may be sent via US Mail. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PAID IN $US FUNDS.
Please note that an incremental shipping amount of $22.50 may be charged to any Canada orders that include posters/maps as posters ship separately from books. This charge will be the same no matter the number of posters/maps and will be added to the amounts calculated online.
We do not currently offer expedited shipping to Canada.
**Canadian Customers are responsible for paying any additional charges that are levied once a shipment reaches your country, such as import duties, customs, clearance and brokerage charges, taxes, and any additional tariffs imposed upon delivery.
Note: According to UPS, Canadian Customs has increased the number of packages that are opened and for which duties/charges are imposed. Most packages will be charged customs tariffs and brokerage charges and UPS is required to collect the Canadian tariff and any brokerage charges upon delivery. This fee is a result of Canadian customs regulations and it is the responsibility of the receiving party in Canada to pay any such fees.
The Language Lizard outbound shipping/handling charge applied to your order covers our cost to ship the product to you. The Language Lizard outbound shipping rates can be seen in the table below. This charge is unrelated to the tariff/brokerage charges discussed above.
Please note that customs policies vary widely by country and change regularly; you should contact your local customs office and/or UPS if you require additional information. You are considered the importer of record and must comply with the regulations of the country in which you are receiving the products.
Cross border shipments may be opened and inspected by customs authorities. Please note that a $25 fee will be applied if a shipment is refused.
A tracking number will be posted to your account within 1-2 business days after your order has shipped. You can access the status of your order and the tracking number by clicking on "My Account" at the top right hand side of our site. (Note: backorders to Canada may be sent via USPS).
**A US Mail option is offered for orders under $150. The US Mail and UPS options will be provided upon order checkout. Shipping and handling costs for online orders over $250 will be calculated when placing order. For mail/fax orders, please apply 18%.
Canada Backorders: Unfortunately, due to the high cost of shipping to Canada, we cannot offer free backorder shipping to Canada. All stock for items on orders to Canada are checked when the order is reviewed for processing. If an item is out of stock at that time, you will be notified and given an option to make a substitution. However, please note that our stock check is based on current stock. Our stock count does not reflect pending orders that have not been fulfilled. As such, it is possible that an order fulfilled prior to yours will use the remaining US stock of an item in your order and the item will no longer be available at the time your order is picked for shipment. If this happens, you will NOT be billed for the unavailable items. Rather, you will be notified of the backorder and the item will be removed from your order unless you inform us that you wish to wait for and pay incremental shipping for the item
